URI Jam the Ram; Rail Against Hunger
On Thursday, February 16th, the holidays may be over but the spirit of the holiday is alive and well at the Jam the Ram, Rail Against Hunger. Come ride or ski, win some great prizes, and help out those in need. The competition will take place at Sigma Pi House, (2 Fraternity Circle Kingston, RI).
Jam the Ram is an open entry, jam style competition with four classes: men's snowboard, women's snowboard, skiers, and gromits (16 and under). Registration is 12pm to 2:45 pm and the competition starts at 3pm. Practice runs will be open during registration. The competition entry fee is 3 canned goods and helmets are mandatory for all competitors. No aerials are allowed and will disqualify you from the competition. All athletes must sign a liability release form and athletes who are under 18 years must have their parent or guardian sign.
For those found deserving, the judges will be dishing out prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Other prizes will be handed out for best outfit and best trick. We recommend that skiers and riders dig out their retro outfits and polish off their old school tricks. Outfits and style will be rewarded.
